French Visitor Behind the Counter
FRENCH VISITOR: We’ve welcomed a new face behind the counter in recent days: Frédéric Bilheux, who runs the local butcher’s in Ceaucé in Lower Normandy - North Petherton’s twin village. He’s just been over for a week’s break with his family and spent a couple of days working in the shops and getting to know English butchery techniques. His visit was a follow-up to an earlier one when our apprentice Anton Matthews spent a week working in Frédéric’s shop in November – and the experience for both has been so rewarding that this is likely to become a permanent arrangement.
